Concept
In the R&D Center, an ion-beam application method is being refined in order to reduce possible defects and damage to liquid crystals. Conventional liquid crystal application involves a rubbing method which often causes imperfections due to static and debris.
An ion-beam applicator eliminates the physical contact between the liquid crystal applicator and the substrate, reducing static and molecule break-down. It also allows for precision placement of molecules along the substrate surface.
